Quite how an artist regroups after an effort like this is anyone’s guess. I’ve not heard anything as beautifully intense or personal since Bon Iver’s ‘For Emma, Forever Ago’.

Happy Blue, by Miracle Mile frontman Jones is much to do with the past and reminiscence and includes a deeply moving tribute to his father, his life, his struggles and how he shaped his son’s heart.

To the Bone is the new solo album from Trevor Jones, the singer and songwriter for Miracle Mile. A great collection of songs born of what he calls “a period of instability”.

This week on the Nest Collective Hour, Jamie Doe and Sam Lee present a selection of music from all angles of the folk world and new music from the likes of Jones, Nuru Kane and Stornoway.
