Jonathan Day

Jonathan Day has released a moving new song and video for easter/Ostara featuring portraits by Anne Brierley made during the Gaza conflict – “These beautiful faces are lost to us now – we will not hear their laughter, see their drawings, hear their music.”

Jonathan Day has shared a beautiful animated video by Panadda Saetsai & Nuchteera Siwadune for In a Garden of Stones taken from his latest album Sakura.

This month, Jonathan Day heads to M’hamid El Ghizlane, for Festival Taragalte, where he and his band will play under the starry skies. He shares his previous experience of the festival and talks about the importance of tourism to the area following the recent earthquake.

The songs on Jonathan Day’s ‘Sakura’ are characterised by a profound philosophical insight and the importance of music and nature. But most of all, it is an album about love and the small but important connections between humans in a world that can feel overwhelmingly big.

Jonathan Day and his band are taking their contemporary rural music to a string of festivals this summer and he has a new lineup they are calling the Great Recovery, expect very joyful arrangements, animated live projections and even some hand-powered animatronic shadow puppets.

Our Song of the Day is Cajsa’s Tears (the lost brides) from Jonathan Peter Day’s new album ‘a Spirit Library’ out now on Niimiika Records and also one of our Featured Albums of the Month.

Jonathan Day’s Spirit Library is the work of an artist who, whether through the experience of travel or through deep contemplation of his surroundings, has come to terms with his place in the world, and it is utterly beautiful.

Currently, on the road with his Spirit Wife Tour, Jonathan Day talks to us about synchronicity and his ongoing album project Vagabond Language as well as sharing some of his many travelling experiences.

We recently caught up with Jonathan Day who is currently touring his forthcoming new album Vagabond Language. Listen to him performing in Fingal’s Cave and read about how his new album came about.

Jonathan Day is currently on his Deciduous Tour – a sound of birds on the road less travelled…don’t miss his UK dates which include Wenlock Poetry Festival, Workhouse Festival and Phoenix Festival.

We rejoin Jonathan Day on the road for a series of guest posts written during his Atlantic Drifter launch tour. He heads over the sea in a force 6 to Rhum for the perhaps the most essential launch gig of the tour.

We rejoin Jonathan Day on the road for a series of guest posts written during his Atlantic Drifter launch tour as he arrives in Shanghai before heading to Beijng for the final part of his China tour.
