Johnny and Lillie Flynn have announced “Beam Cottage,” their first collaborative album, due 6th November via Transgressive Records. Produced by Charlie Andrew, it features new songs, covers of childhood favourites as well as reworkings from Johnny’s catalogue. Earth Recordings have announce a Record Store Day Tribute to Shirley Collins with the release of ‘Shirley Inspired’, an album from which we have a small taster with songs performed by Graham Coxon, Will Oldham and Johnny Flynn. Vincent Moon has given Mumford and Sons the Blogotheque treatment. With only an hour to spare, Moon set up whilst Mumford attempted to translate one of their songs as well as find a nearby filming location that hadn’t been used before. As always, they succeeded in pulling it off along with the help of Johnny Flynn improvising on violin! This was the result:
