Jenny Sturgeon announces new EP – The Wren And The Salt Air. Commissioned by the National Trust for Scotland (NTS) the music is inspired by the wildlife and human history of St Kilda, Britain’s most remote island group.
Scottish acoustic band Salt House have added Jenny Sturgeon to their numbers which include the sought after talents of Ewan MacPherson and Lauren MacColl. Watch them performing two of their new songs in preparation for hitting the road in 2017.
Our Song of the Day is from Jenny Sturgeon with Nowhere Else I’d Rather Be, taken from her forthcoming album ‘From the Skein’ which is released this Friday 10 June via Tamarach Records.
With ‘From the Skein’ Jenny Sturgeon has pushed her music far beyond the realms of singer/songwriter, to a wider sphere where words, music and creativity combine in an inspired and thoroughly engaging work.
We have a track premiere to share from Clype’s eponymous debut album which is truly inspirational. We also speak to Simon Gall about his influences and how the work of Edward Said inspired this track.
