Jake Xerxes Fussell’s sixth album, The Old Beloved Path, is his most delicately considered release yet — his most elegant and unassuming. Jake Xerxes Fussell has announced a new album, “The Old Beloved Path”, out September 18th via Fat Possum, and shared lead single “Rock Island Line” — a folk standard he’d long avoided until a Lonnie Donegan recording drew him in, marrying it to an old English nursery rhyme until it felt like his own.

Folklore forager Jake Xerxes Fussell and producer and musician James Elkington provide the score for Rebuilding, a poignant film of recovery and resilience. Their seventeen miniatures, built on guitar and fleshed out with pedal steel and subtle strings, evoke classics like Ry Cooder’s Paris, Texas, yet swap its iconic dust for palpable warmth and optimism. The music is almost minimalist but captures the magic of cinematic landscape and human emotion.

Acclaimed songwriters Jake Xerxes Fussell and James Elkington have teamed up for their first film score for the new feature film, Rebuilding.
