Jake Blount

Jake Blount’s “Single-Footing Horse” has him coming full circle, returning to the old-time mountain music played by Appalachian string bands that first nurtured him. Jake Blount & Mali Obomsawin’s Symbiont is a magical fusion of natural beauty, fragility, turbulence and ever-evolving motion. It is awe-inspiring, a ball of chance and wonder, much like the planet Earth.

New Dangerfield is the highly anticipated Black string band supergroup that brings together Jake Blount, Kaia Kater, Tray Wellington, and Nelson Williams. Their first Single, “Dangerfield Newby” is out now and pays homage to 19th Cent. Black Abolitionist.

While this unapologetically no-frills and sounding true to the originals album will appeal to old-time and Black string music fans, banjo and fiddle player Jake Blount offers plenty here to engage the casual listener too.
