Iron and Wine

Following the release of Iron & Wine’s Archive Series Volume No. 1, Volume No. 2 is now upon us featuring two covers including Neil Young’s Albuquerque. Listen to it here and read our recent interview with Sam Beam.

If you can get on board with the diversity on offer (and why on earth wouldn’t you?), Sing Into My Mouth is a gloriously relaxed set of Summer songs from two musicians whose passion for their art shines through every groove. Get it on.

With their new album ‘Sing into My Mouth’ due out this week on 17th July, we talk to Sam Beam (Iron and Wine) and Ben Bridwell of Band of Horses about their new covers album. They turn thousands of miles into the back-porch of a local bar for Folk Radio; three cold beers and all the time in the world to shoot the breeze.

The Iron and Wine Archive Series Volume No. 1 offers previously unreleased stripped back bare bones recordings. These early-day songs make them a must for any fan of Sam Beam.

A new mix from FRUK: Lost in Transmission ii – feat: The Unthanks, Piers Faccini, Sir Richard Bishop, Karen Dalton, Sonny & the Sunsets, Iron & Wine and many more.

Iron and Wine delves into his early catalogue to release the first in a series of previously unreleased home recordings through his own label. Listen to Everyone’s Summer Of ’95, our Song of the Day.

Iron and Wine returns to the UK to perform dates in Manchester and London and one lucky winner will get two places on the guestlist for the Manchester Opera House gig (the only gig outside London) on May 30th!

Anyone familiar with Gregory Alan Isakov will have experienced the magical silken threaded balance he uses to engage the listener. With a UK Tour in June it was too good an opportunity to miss so we got him to record a session for us.

On the back of a beautiful performance at End of the Road festival in Wiltshire, Iron and Wine, the moniker of Sam Beam returned to London’s Union Chapel to a silent, near motionless crowd hypnotised by his Southern, sombre folk songs.

This festival line-up just keeps getting better, just when I think they’ve topped it they add another top band that we love! Indie giants Modest Mouse, gothic-Americana act Iron & Wine, conquering London guitar trio The White Lies and the single most exciting irish act of the last few years, Villagers, have all been added to this year’s 12th Open House Festival in Belfast, 7th – 12th September!
