GECKØS, the new super-trio of M. Ward, Howe Gelb (Giant Sand), and Mark McCausland (McKowski), will release their debut self-titled album on September 26th. Born from an impromptu jam at a Tucson wedding; you can hear the band’s distinctive sound on their new single “El Techno.” The hypnotic track features a career-first for M. Ward, who takes the vocal lead entirely in Spanish.

The Paris-based collective Valparaiso releases the new single and video ‘Rising Tides’ June 2nd featuring a duet between guests-singers Phoebe Killdeer of Nouvelle Vague and Howe Gelb.

Howe Gelb kicks off his UK tour at with Guy Garvey’s Meltdown including dates in Glasgow, Gateshead and Bristol. Plus ‘Sno Angel Like You’ will see its 10th Anniversary Reissue in September via Fire Records.

Celebrating the band’s 30th anniversary, for their 28th album Howe Gelb has put together a sort of retrospective, revisiting not old songs, but rather the styles the band has embraced over the years. Its tripartite musical nature makes it an eclectic listen, a reminder of what a diverse, influential and inspired Howe Gelb really is.

Howe Gelb‘s expanded group Giant Giant Sand will be playing their only UK show as a full band at the Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire on Sunday 12 August. An opportunity to see ‘Tucson‘ performed as a the rock opera it was intended to be.
