The Orain Series is a new non-profit project by The Gallery Cafe showcasing three of the most widely acclaimed folk artists in the UK – Dougie MacLean, Heidi Talbot and James Yorkston.

The line-up this year includes Seth Lakeman, Show of Hands, Drever, McCusker, Woomble with Heidi Talbot, Bella Hardy, Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds, Kathryn Roberts and Sean Lakeman and Tyde!

The following videos are from the Shrewsbury Folk Festival 2010 which featured a host of names I’m sure many of you are familar with including Bellowhead, Dervish and Andy Irvine, Genticorum, Nancy Kerr and James Fagan, Boo Hewerdine and Heidi Talbot to name just a few.

Roddy Woomble (Idlewild), Kris Drever (Lau) and John McCusker are set to repeat their 2008 sell-out concert at Union Chapel on Wednesday 10th November and on Monday 8th November in Leeds.

Kris Drever is doubtlessly one of the most appealing singers of his generation working the current folk scene. He approaches each song in such a laid-back manner, without sacrificing a scrap of intensity or subtlety.
