Glasgow-based, British-Finnish artist, composer and performer Hanna Tuulikki releases wordless improvisation based on musical patterns of four songbirds, recorded at dawn in Little Drum Wood, Glen Finglas.

Our Song of the Day comes from Glasgow-based artist and composer Hanna Tuulikki with Songthrush which was recently chosen by author Helen Macdonald for her Private Passions on BBC Radio 3.

Our Song of the Day is new composition from Hanna Tuulikki for two voices (with Mischa MacPherson) which draws on the full cycle of working with wool and its associated musical traditions.

We talk to Hanna Tuulikki about her new project ‘Away with the Birds’ which explores the mimesis of birds in Gaelic song which will be performed on the Isle of Canna this month.

Away with the Birds is the Glasgow-based artist and composer Hanna Tuulikki’s most ambitious work to date. It will be performed on the Isle of Canna in the Inner Hebrides. Please support the project by making a pledge.
