Gregory Alan Isakov

Peter Mulvey heads out on another several hundred miles on a bicycle, with a cadre of friends through Michigan before tearing down the US West Coast…and he has a new album coming.

We interview Gregory Alan Isakov prior to his UK Tour. He talks about his new album, songwriting, his love of horticulture and more. If you missed our session with him, now’s your chance to hear it again!

Watch this new video session of Gregory Alan Isakov performing the John Hartford cover, In Tall buildings…It is filmed by ‘Before The Winter Fires’ in an old, water filled quarry near Halvasso, Cornwall.

Anyone familiar with Gregory Alan Isakov will have experienced the magical silken threaded balance he uses to engage the listener. With a UK Tour in June it was too good an opportunity to miss so we got him to record a session for us.

Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Gregory Alan Isakov’s song-craft lends to the deepest lyrical masterpieces. With hints of his influences, Leonard Cohen, Iron and Wine and Kelly Joe Phelps, Gregory Alan Isakov has been described as “strong, subtle, a lyrical genius” and has shared the stage with touring artists such as Calexico, Ani Difranco, Brandi Carlile, Indigo Girls, Richie Havens, and Fiona Apple.
