Celebrating the band’s 30th anniversary, for their 28th album Howe Gelb has put together a sort of retrospective, revisiting not old songs, but rather the styles the band has embraced over the years. Its tripartite musical nature makes it an eclectic listen, a reminder of what a diverse, influential and inspired Howe Gelb really is.

Whilst some of the world panic about the Mayan Apocalypse and end of the world on Friday 21 December Giant Giant Sand offer a seasonal counterbalance with a free track “Not the End of the World”

Howe Gelb‘s expanded group Giant Giant Sand will be playing their only UK show as a full band at the Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire on Sunday 12 August. An opportunity to see ‘Tucson‘ performed as a the rock opera it was intended to be.
