Gavin Davenport

Blair Dunlop has today announced an end to ongoing work of the current line up of The Albion Band to allow him and band members to focus on their own individual projects.

We continue our look back at the Best Albums of 2013 including: Gavin Davenport, Bella Hardy, eagleowl, Thirty Pounds of Bone, Arborea and many more.

Watch the Exclusive Première of Gavin Davenport’s new video for ‘Wooden Swords And May Queens’ from his latest album The Bone Orchard and read our in-depth interview.

There’s a great energy to Gavin Davenport’s new album ‘The Bone Orchard’. Whether the sleight of the poacher or the thrill of the races he has a commanding voice that brings these songs to life.

Building on a summer of successful festival appearances, The Albion Band is taking what could be called a victory lap with a second UK tour this November.

The second in our Tradition mixes. It features both new and old from an old pub session from 1967 featuring Bobby Casey to Christy Moore, Kris Drever, Kate Rusby, Gavin Davenport and more!

As far as band shake-ups go you don’t get a more striking change than this one. The Albion Band is to get a complete re-boot for 2012 as the torch is passed to a newer generation of English folk talent. Ashley Hutchings will be handing over the reins to his son, Blair Dunlop, who is joined by Gavin Davenport, Tom Wright, Katriona Gilmore and Tim Yates.
