Conor Oberst has, after a three year break, decided to resurrect Bright Eyes for what is likely to be the finale album of this moniker. The People’s Key will be sending Bright Eyes out with a bang if that is the case. Despite some shallow press reviews, I think this is an exceptional album!

Swedish sisters First Aid Kit’s “Happy 10th Birthday Wichita” show at The Garage proved the pair, still under 20 years old, to be growing masters of the narrative driven story songs they grew up listening to. We caught up with Klara and Johanna Söderberg before their show for a brief chat about Swedish folk music, their influences and plans to expand their line up:

First Aid Kit are young swedish sisters, Johanna and Klara Soderberg. They came to the attention of the public following a very innocent tribute to Fleet Foxes. After seeing Fleet Foxes perform in Sweden that weekend they felt inspired and went into the forest to record a cover of “Tiger Mountain Peasant Song”.
