Paul Sartin, folk singer, oboist, violinist, composer and arranger and founding member of Faustus, Bellowhead, Belshazzar’s Feast, has passed away. We recall a few magical moments from his rich musical legacy.

Faustus have long shown they can use three voices with very different characters, in just about any combination, to present their pick of English traditional songs. With this album, their musicianship has been given more room to shine, producing music that is true to its roots, relevant to today and, above all, ridiculously enjoyable.

Peter Bellamy’s 1977 masterpiece Ballad-Opera ‘The Transports’ to be re-told featuring The Young’uns, Faustus, Nancy Kerr and members of Bellowhead together on stage. Plus we have a CD giveaway of the original release.

Faustus have been announced as Halsway Manor artists in residence for 2016. The project centres around the development of new arrangements of rare traditional English folk music, culminating in two workshop weekends, two national tours and a new album
