Edinburgh Tradfest

Featuring over 100 artists and musicians, tickets for Edinburgh Tradfest are now on sale – the lineup includes Rhiannon Giddens, Kim Carnie, Dirk Powell, Kathryn Tickell & The Darkening, Ryan Young, Ailie Robertson, Rory Matheson and Graham Rorie, Bronwynne Brent and lots more.

Edinburgh Tradfest (29 April to 9 May 2022) has launched its 10th festival programme of traditional live music, talks, podcasts, storytelling, ceilidhs, dance, workshops and new commissions taking place at various venues across the City.

The first-ever digital edition of Edinburgh Tradfest was a great success, reaching traditional music fans in America and Australia, as well as across Scotland and the UK.

Edinburgh Tradfest kicks off this week from Friday 30 April – Monday 10 May 2021. Find out about the brilliant nine-episode Podcast they have planned and all their special guests – not to be missed.

Edinburgh Tradfest returns with an online programme featuring a stellar line-up of artists from Scotland and around the world including Shetland Springs: a celebration of the Shetland fiddle tradition, Karine Polwart, Lizabett Russo, Shooglenifty, Kinnaris Quintet, Moishe’s Bagel, Old Blind Dogs, Mike Vass and more.

Edinburgh Tradfest’s new Spotlight season kicks off with four new online video concerts including Old Blind Dogs, Siobhan Miller, Catriona MacDonald, Margaret Robertson and Malin.

Edinburgh Tradfest release brand new recording and video of the popular Scottish/Irish song Wild Mountain ft. 36 artists including Eliza Carthy; Fiona Hunter, Rachel Newton, James Mackintosh, Catriona Macdonald, Chris Stout, Phil Alexander and Daoirí Farrell among others.

Tradfest pulled in a truly international audience from Scotland and beyond to this year’s festival, which featured Lankum, Talisk, The Fretless, Kathleen MacInnes, Fiona Hunter, Kaela Rowan and more.

Edinburgh Tradfest returns in 2019 kicking off at the Queen’s Hall on Friday 26 April with live music from anarchic Irish folk band Lankum. Plus: Talisk, Inge Thomson, Kathleen MacInnes, Fiona Hunter, Kaela Rowan,  May Erlewine, The Fretless and lots more.
