Emily Askew announces new album with her band featuring Jamie Roberts, John Dipper, Simon Whittaker and Louise Duggan. Together they explore medieval and renaissance melodies and bring them into a new contemporary folk style.
For their latest album, Tricks of the Trade, Dipper Malkin weave a veritable tapestry of sound that honours a long tradition, whilst adding the golden thread of the unexpected.
Their tunes and songs are connected by intermezzos of humorous anecdotes which give insight into the English folk tradition as well as into Dipper & Malkin’s personal musical journeys. Today a sees their special Album Launch concert at Sidmouth Folk Festival.
