Dervish have now announced a string of seven UK shows, including dates in Cardiff, Cambridge and London, that will feature tracks from across their extensive back catalogue, from new arrangements from their latest critically acclaimed album to firm fan favourites.

Belfast International Arts Festival returns from 6 October to 7 November with headliners Glen Hansard and The Great Irish Songbook, featuring legendary Irish folk group Dervish, alongside Brian Kennedy, Cara Dillon, Karen Matheson, Eddi Reader and Belfast’s own Open Arts Community Choir.

The line-up on ‘I Am of Ireland’, reads like a who’s who of the mainly Irish but also Irish American and British folk music world. There’s plenty of enjoyable music here and if it guides you back to Yeats’ poetry, well, that’s a worthwhile bonus.

Featuring a long list of special guests, The Great Irish Songbook is a stirring celebration of both Dervish’s own thirty years together and the music of their native Ireland.

Ahead of the release of their new album The Great Irish Songbook, Dervish announce the premiere of its ‘The Great Irish Songbook’ show at The Palladium in London which will feature very special guests. David Gray and Kate Rusby are first to be revealed with more to come over the next few weeks.

Irish Folk icons Dervish are to release The Great Irish Songbook on April 12, 2019, a Rounder Records debut that features guests Steve Earle, Rhiannon Giddens, Brendan Gleeson, Kate Rusby, Abigail Washburn and more.

This month finds the Brewery Arts Centre rolling back the years to the heady days of its famous folk festival with a brand new event featuring Eliza Carthy & The Wayward Band, Dervish, Rura and more.

Shrewsbury Folk Festival has unveiled its line-up for next year’s event with Richard Thompson and Kate Rusby topping the bill.
