Dan Haywood announces ‘Country Dustbin’, a one-track album & book of poetry that attempts to come to terms with the clutter of a life in the 20th & 21st century…that walks a tightrope across the joyful, the sad, the wondrous, the banal.

Trembling Bells reveal humorous new teaser for Record Store Day single ‘Who Call The Law?’, a song written by that maverick English songsmith, Dan Haywood who narrates the video.

Ahead of the release of their new album The Sovereign Self on 29th June Trembling Bells reveal their new video for ‘Sweet Death Polka’ and announce a Two Day London Residency featuring Alasdair Roberts, eclectic folk trio the Family Elan, Incredible String Band founder Mike Heron and legendary folk artist Martin Carthy and more.

In part 5 of our Best Albums of 2013 we feature Lal Waterson, Lisa Knapp, The Full English, Dan Haywood, The R.G. Morrison, Ruth Theodore, Barrule, Aidan O’Rourke and more.

Today we’re very pleased to present the new video for Dan Haywood ‘Suspicious Farms’ which uses images that are simultaneously photorealistic and wireframe abstract: two dream worlds colliding.

Dan Haywood’s ‘Dapple’ has a deep and symbiotic relationship with nature and place. The roots of which seem to have seeped up from the ancient ground on which he made these airy and beautifully understated recordings.

Folk Radio UK favourite Dan Haywood who we introduced back in 2011 has a new album ‘Dapple’ out in November. Watch his new video for Suspicious Farms.

Paddy Steer has done a great remix of Vadoinmessico ‘In Spain’ which you can listen to below. Anyone familiar with Paddy’s 2009 release ‘Dragon’s Breath’ will know of his incredible ability in sound creation.

Dan Haywood’s New Hawks set comprised of songs which flitted between folky laments, coupled with intricate Celtic fiddle from two onstage violinists, to more bizarre and lightly psychedelic flirtations which would see Haywood stand nicely (though perhaps uneasily) beside David Thomas Broughton’s spontaneous, alternative folk performances.

Dan Haywood’s New Hawks chronicles Haywood’s journey around Northern Scotland, his songs absorb the land, it’s people and wildlife. What may at first appear quirky becomes incredibly well rooted and natural. What took five years to create can never be done again. So we had to speak to him…
