The nominations for the 7th RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards have been announced, including Róis, Lemoncello, Joshua Burnside, Lankum, Christy Moore, Ríoghnach Connolly, Landless, John Spillane, Niamh Bury and more.

Christy Moore has shared a live video recording of him performing Black is the Colour at Glasgow’s Barrowlands in 2008. He learned the song from Hamish Imlach who was also a good friend.

Christy Moore has today shared a further single, Johnny Boy, from his new studio album, Flying into Mystery. The song is a Gary Moore cover, originally written as a tribute to Thin Lizzy bandmate, Phil Lynott.

Legendary singer/song-writer, Christy Moore, returns with his new single, Clock Winds Down. The song is the first taster from his new studio album, Flying into Mystery, which will be released worldwide on 19th November 2021.

Uilliann piper Liam O’Flynn has died after a long period of illness. To most, he will best be remembered as a founding member of the groundbreaking Irish traditional group Planxty in which he played alongside  Christy Moore, Andy Irvine and Donal Lunny.

Whether you’re already a fan or not, this live album is an indispensable addition to Christy Moore’s canon of work. A quintessential release from a national legend.
