Daphne’s Flight return two decades after their impressive debut with Knows Time, Knows Change. Individually they are classy performers, together they are utterly sublime. Let’s just hope it doesn’t take quite so long before they take flight again.

Roots 66 is a new folk festival to be held at The Theatre By The Lake in Keswick over the weekend of Feb 5-7th 2016 which will incorporate two showcase concerts to celebrate 40 Years of Fellside Recordings. We talk to Chris While and Julie Matthews about their latest album ‘Who We Are’ an album that includes songs about a village decimated by the plague in the 17th century and women working in Sheffield’s steel industry during wartime. Plus guest artists: O’Hooley & Tidow, Joe Broughton, Kellie While and Kit Bailey.

Jonathan Day’s ‘Carved in Bone’ is definately in the exceptional league and sets a very high standard that should bring him the much deserved wider recognistion across the folk circuit. This is a great album to get lost within.
