Chris Stout

Shetland fiddler Chris Stout and harpist extraordinaire Catriona McKay return with a new duo album Bare Knuckle from which we take our Tune of the Day. Watch them performing Louise’s Waltz, recorded live in a cottage in Cellardyke, Scotland.

Since 1996 The Scots Fiddle Festival has been promoting and sharing traditional Scots fiddle music. In its 20 years, the number of events organised by the volunteer committee has tripled, and this year over 40 musicians will present 50 events over the space of just one weekend in Edinburgh.

Every Saturday night between now and Christmas there will be two Celtic Connections acts performing from 7pm at ‘Glasgow Loves Christmas’. Have a listen to them now.

Chris Stout is delighted to have been asked by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra to compose a piece of music especially for them and he also releases a new album this week: Chris Stout’s Brazilian Theory – Live In Concert
