After two self-released albums, Nashville-based Americana singer-songwriter Caroline Spence has deservedly been signed to a major independent label. This release finds her in mint condition indeed and assured a place in the albums of the year list.
A love found, lived and lost in eight songs, simply but beautifully crafted in its musical and emotional notes, it’s the album equivalent of a Richard Linklater or Woody Allen bittersweet romance.
The press notes for Spades and Roses talk about the power of songs to help find peace, clarity and hope amidst the emotional wreckage of our everyday lives. Caroline Spence is a testament to that.
