Caoimhin O Raghallaigh

Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Dan Trueman announce new album ‘the Fate of Bones’, a followup to their 2014 debut Laghdú. Listen to their lead single Widdershins – an old word which means to move in a counter-clockwise direction.

Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Thomas Bartlett have created an album that is seductively dreamlike but sometimes sad, layered like a palimpsest but accessible on every one of those layers. It is unlikely you will hear a better instrumental album this year.

Our Tune of the Day comes from Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Thomas Bartlett’s new self-titled album. Listen to ‘All Good Things’, a tune inspired by the Baltimore Fiddle Fair, where Caoimhín was musician-in-residence one year.

World-renowned Irish American supergroup The Gloaming return with their highly anticipated third studio album The Gloaming 3 on 22nd February 2019 on Real World Records. Listen to two new tracks Sheehan’s Jigs and Áthas (Joy).

This Is How We Fly have wowed audiences all over Ireland, the US and Europe. Formed by Irish fiddle player Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh they head out on tour across Ireland, plus a date at London’s Barbican Centre. Watch them in action.

What is so impressive about this release is the level of immersive intimacy that the quintet achieves in a live setting. Only the audience appreciation at the end of each track reminds you that they aren’t playing just for you. This is music deeply rooted in its time and in its space yet played without borders – and it’s all the better for it.

We have a pair of guest-list places to giveaway for The Gloaming ‘Sold Out’ show at Union Chapel this Friday 26th February, the same day on which their new album “2” is released on Real World records.

In 2, The Gloaming meet and exceed the expectations encouraged by their debut. It’s another enthralling, captivating interpretation of Irish tradition. For some reason it’s all rather emotional – that emotion tends to be joy, frequently mixed with wonder.

The Gloaming announce new album ‘2’, to be released on February 26…enhancing traditional Irish music’s rich, melancholic tones with modern hues of jazz, contemporary classical, and experimental music. Listen to Fáinleog (Wanderer) here.

Irish music supergroup ‘The Gloaming’ announce new album and two live shows in London and Dublin for February 2016. Watch them performing Samhradh Samhradh live in Cork.

The Gloaming is a time between night and day a world between worlds, the music of this quintet occupies the spaces between the tradition and the modern, the mystery and the beauty.

The Gloaming features five well known virtuosic musicians: Iarla Ó Lionaird, Thomas Bartlett, Dennis Cahill, Martin Hayes and Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh. Here’s a taster of their self titled debut album due out 20th Jan 2014.
