Acclaimed Aotearoa musician and New Zealand Arts Laureate Ariana Tikao will bring the ancient sounds of taonga puoro (traditional Māori instruments) to London’s Cafe OTO on July 27th. A renowned composer and practitioner, Tikao will collaborate with the Rothko Collective to perform newly commissioned works based on Māori chants, blending composed music with improvisation, spoken word, and video art for what promises to be an immersive experience.

Adam Bohman is an extraordinary artist, best known for his experimental sound creations. Lesser known are his collages, ink drawings and graphic scores which Cafe OTO hope to exhibit.

The candle-lit environs of Dalston’s Cafe Oto felt a particularly apt setting for chamber-folk five-piece The Magic Lantern to host their single launch party. Amongst the flickering tea-lights atop wooden tables, decorated with remnants of Organic beer and homemade cakes, a crowd of friends, family and listeners new and old gathered.

The Magic Lantern return to Cafe Oto this month to launch their debut single ‘Cut From Stone’ for what promises to be a great show, they will be joined by Bleeding Heart Narrative.
