Brigid Mae Power

Brigid Mae Power announces third studio album ‘Head Above The Water’ which hints at what the label is calling a more diverse, different, a bigger canvas, with broader brushstrokes…listen to lead single ‘On a City Night’.

This Friday sees the release of a new digital single from Ireland’s Brigid Mae Power. Watch the beautiful accompanying video for ‘Is My Presence In The Room Enough For You?’ and hear her gorgeous cover of Fred Neil’s ‘The Dolphins’.

Musically, The Two Worlds is mesmeric…retaining the carefully atmospheric, dreamlike ambience of its predecessors. Centred around Brigid’s trademark clangorous, heavy-sustain piano tone (or reverberant guitar and organ) for a backdrop, all detail is couched in a languid analogue sound that oozes authenticity.

Ireland’s Brigid Mae Power returns with a new album, ‘The Two Worlds’. The album will be released worldwide in all formats February 9th, 2018 on San Francisco’s Tompkins Square label.

This year’s Fanø Free Folk festival (21-23 July 2017) is looking greater than ever. Names include Ed Askew, Brigid Mae Power, Sutari, Dead Rat Orchestra, Stanley Brinks & Freschard, Sharron Kraus and more.

The Ones You Keep Close is an entirely fitting companion to Brigid Mae Power’s earlier album – once you’ve fallen under her spell, it’s certainly one to keep close!

The Golden Hum featured the transcendent vocal and sparse instrumentation of Brigid Mae Power, Gareth Dickson’s graceful songs and mesmerising finger-picked guitar; and event organiser Constant Follower’s début live performance.

This is an extraordinary album: exceedingly hypnotic and strongly individual, while at the same time intensely moving, elemental and Powerful. It’s proved all too easy to fall under its spell, and I’m hooked for good, with the disc on pretty constant replay.

Our Song of the Day comes via Irish singer-songwriter Brigid Mae Power with It’s Clearing Now. We also have a lovely home-recording video of her performing ‘As I Roved Out’, a song that I’ve long associated with Andy Irvine. Don’t miss her UK Tour Dates.
