It’s one thing to be able to witness a folk legend in action at close quarters these days. It’s quite another to see one in a cosy pub venue the size of your front room, with about 50 others. One of the best gigs I’ve experienced this century. Really.

We catch up with Bridget St John in New York City before she kicks off her 2018 intimate UK & Ireland tour with an appearance at Birmingham’s Moseley Folk Festival (Sunday 2 September 2018). She talks about her move to the US, John Peel, Nick Drake, Kevin Ayers, Michael Chapman and more.

Bridget St. John has announced a short tour of the UK and Ireland in September 2018. The tour begins with an appearance at Moseley Folk Festival and includes a gig at The John Peel Centre – It was the late John Peel that helped to launch Bridget’s musical career.
