James Duncan Mackenzie provided a rousing finale to a fabulous set of mostly original compositions, with top-drawer playing all around; I imagine anyone who didn’t already have a copy of James’s album Fìbhig didn’t leave the building without one.

Fàs is a thoroughly satisfying album that introduces significant new elements to Breabach’s music but also confirms they’ve never lost sight of their roots. It brings them very securely back to home ground, all adding up to a fascinating blend of familiarity and innovation.

Megan Henderson of Breabach joins forces with Moana & The Tribe for their latest single ‘Maiea’, which features lyrics in both Māori and Gaelic. The accompanying video, which features Moana’s daughter, was filmed in New Zealand and Scotland.
