Biita Houdei
Biita Houdei’s solo debut “This Bed Was Made For Me” challenges quickfire disposability head-on. She sewed a patch for each of its fourteen songs, then recorded them over ten full, back-to-back days. The result exudes personality and feeling, a testament to the slow process and the commitment and patience required to create a complete work of art.
Biita Houdei shares “Night Fright,” the third single from her debut album “This Bed Was Made For Me”. The track explores parallel relationships, one rooted in difficulty and turmoil, the other blossoming into something effortless and gentle. It’s accompanied by a horror-tinged video directed by Seth Naugle and Sam Falconi.
Biita Houdei announces her debut album “This Bed Was Made For Me”, out 18th September on Basin Rock and Father/Daughter. Lead single “The Ground Here” brings in Big Thief’s Buck Meek, moving from a parched California summer to the rivers of her Ozark home. Produced by Haley Heynderickx, Biita sewed a patch for every song as she worked; together, they became the quilt featured on the album’s cover.
Biita Houdei — the new moniker of singer-songwriter Lisa Houdei (formerly LéPonds) — shares debut single “Life Inside The Hourglass” via Basin Rock and Father/Daughter. Shaped in the shadows and sounds of Topanga Canyon, the sub-three-minute strum dropped into her mind “from a ghost of sorts” and was written in twenty minutes. Produced by Haley Heynderickx in her first lead production role.
