Arborea

Folk Radio UK is pleased to premier Arborea’s latest video for ‘Wolves’ from their latest album Red Planet which was released earlier this year. The folklorish imagery is magical and fairy-tale like.

On our latest Friday Folk Music Club we feature Karen Dalton, Matt Bauer & Dana Falconberry, Benjamin Folke Thomas, Laura Gibson, Arborea and Ivor Cutler, as well as some free tracks.

Red Planet is a breathtaking vision of two beautiful people. It is a reflection of their travels, their hardships and jubilation. It is perfect! Read our review and watch the exclusive Philadelphia ‘Sun Room’ Sessions.

Arborea’s new album, Red Planet, is released today and to celebrate we’re very proud to be offering this first exclusive viewing of their new video for Phantasmagoria in Two, a beautiful and ethereal Tim Buckley cover which features on the album.

Avant-folk duo Arborea are to release their new album, Red Planet, on 26 April this year. The album will also be released as a limited 500 edition LP….with the first 100 being in Translucent Red. Have a listen to it now!

Our Indie Folk favourites, Arborea, (Buck and Shanti Curran) are working on a new album and need your help to complete the final stages of producing and promoting the record.

We recently had the pleasure of the company of Buck and Shanti Curran, better know as Arborea, who stayed with us for a night during their UK/European tour. They had just performed at the Grain Barge in Bristol with Two Wings (Hanna Tuulikki, Ben Reynolds, Kenneth Wilson, Lucy Duncombe, and Doog) in support. It was an exceptional evening. I’ll mention this more in a separate post.

We have been waiting a long time to see Arborea play and now finally they are back in the UK and will be even touching down in Bristol which is right on our doorstep! So we’re very very happy! We’re big fans, in case you didn’t guess! Arborea are Buck and Shanti who, amongst producing some of the most incredible music we play also did us a lovely mix just …

We have been following Arborea since the release of Wayfaring Summer in 2006. I have yet to come across an artist that sounds anything like them. They draw inspiration from many other great artists including Robie Basho, Martin Simpson and Tim Buckley.

This Oliver Peel session with Arborea, who are Buck Curran and his wife Shanti was recorded recently in Paris. We have been playing Arborea on Folk Radio Uk for what feels like many years. I am still as moved by their beautiful music today as I was when I first heard them.

This mix was put together for Folk Radio UK by Buck and Shanti of Arborea:
