Arborea

Buck Curran of the duo Arborea returns to the UK in April 2022, his first dates here in support of his latest album ‘No Love Is Sorrow’. Watch him performing ‘New Moontide’ live with musical collaborator Jodi Pedrali (a.k.a Joud).

Ten years ago today, avant folk duo Arborea released their critically praised album ‘Red Planet’ – in celebration, Buck and Shanti share their personal recollections of that album along with personal insights into its making in a special guest post.

Our Song of the Day is from Arborea with ‘When I Was On Horseback’, filmed in Lewiston Maine in 2013 in the old clock tower of the Lewiston City Hall.

Watch Buck Curran in session performing music from his solo albums Immortal Light and Morning Haikus, Afternoon Ragas. The videos were filmed by Jesse Sheppard (of the band Elkhorn) at his home in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania.

Our Song of the Day comes from Adaya, a charismatic songwriter-musician from Switzerland. This is high calibre music, both stunning and original in concept and delivery, we’re looking forward to hearing more.

We have a warm and in-depth chat with Buck Curran (Arborea) who has just released his solo album ‘Immortal Light’ and started his own label ‘Obsolete Records’. We talk about his influences and have a very interesting chat about the music of Martin Simpson, Robbie Basho and more.

Buck Curran has been a leading light in the psych-folk scene for so long now that it might come as a surprise to learn that this is his first solo album. With Immortal Light he has successfully tapped into nature’s beauty and created a slice of alt-folk that is as engrossing as anything you’re likely to hear.

Buck Curran of Arborea announces solo project and a new tribute album to Robbie Basho featuring Glenn Jones, Steffen Basho Junghans, Chuck Johnson and many more.

Our tune of the day is from Twelve Hides (Ben Tweddell) with the added bonus of some psychedelic electric guitar from Buck Curran of Arborea as well as Tiffany Williams on vocals.

We rejoin Arborea for the final entry of their guest tour blog. They play in Dallastown, Pennsylvania before returning home to Philadelphia. They are playing a few dates in Ireland in November.

We rejoin Arborea on Day 5 of their guest tour blog and the night of the Robbie Basho tribute concert also feat. Glenn Jones, Daniel Bachman and Ryley Walker.

We rejoin Arborea on Day 4 of their guest tour blog via Pittsburgh, Harrisburg & Germantown – taking in sound healing, a live show and rising nerves over the Robbie Basho tribute concert.
