It’s a sensitive, humble, yet skilled arrangement on show on amrwd and one that works incredibly well. Angharad Jenkins and Patrick Rimes’ masterful playing thrills throughout, and the considered compositions constantly surprise and please. It’s a delightful recording and evidence that Welsh folk is in very safe hands.

The National Eisteddfod and Australia’s National Celtic Folk Festival have launched a brand new partnership which has led to two new singles featuring Angharad Jenkins and Jenny M Thomas.

Part One of our Best Folk Albums of 2018 includes Brigid Mae Power, Anna & Elizabeth, Aidan O’Rourke, Eamon O’Leary, Buck Curran, Cath & Phil Tyler, Dom Flemons, Kitty Macfarlane, Mike Vass, Toby Hay, Duncan Chisholm and more.

Effortlessly enjoyable, the silver thread of “Llinyn Arian” is one which binds us to its mother-daughter creators. Strewn throughout this album are themes of journeys and resolutions born from joy, love, collaboration, and community.

Our Song of the Day is rather a tune, from the mother and daughter Welsh duo Delyth & Angharad Jenkins who play under the title of DnA. Watch their video for Brandy Cove.
