Arun Sood and Angeline Morrison announce Donn/Dubh, a debut collaborative album due 7 August on Real World X. Rooted in shared Hebridean heritage spanning Scotland, Jamaica and India, the twelve-track collection pulls folk melodies apart and reassembles them over bass-heavy beats, synths and drones. Lead single ‘A Rìbhinn a Bheil Cuimhn’ Agad’ and its accompanying video are out now.

I AM PROUD Collective — Angeline Morrison, Leonie Evans, Lizi Morse, Priscilla Andersohn and Rhiannon Takel — release their debut single I AM PROUD – in tribute to Sojourner Truth on 6th March, ahead of International Women’s Day. Drawing on Truth’s famous provocation “Ain’t I a Woman,” the Bristol-rooted supergroup has crafted a trans-inclusive folk anthem of solidarity and joy.

Jon Bickley, Angeline Morrison and Cohen Braithwaite-Kilcoyne join forces on Grace Will Lead Me Home, exploring the controversial and complex history surrounding the hymn ‘Amazing Grace’.

In February 2022, Mark Radcliffe of Radio 2’s The Folk Show launched 21st Century Folk. These songs are revealed for the first time today. The artists involved are Martyn Joseph, Thea Gilmore, The Young’uns, Chris Difford with Kathryn Williams, and Angeline Morrison with The Unthanks.

Today marks the release of Angeline Morrison’s latest album ‘The Sorrow Songs’ on Topic Records. Watch the new animated video by Marry Waterson for Unknown African Boy (d.1830), the first song she wrote for the album.

With ‘The Sorrow Songs’, Angeline Morrison set out to retell the stories of historic British Black ancestors through song. In this she has succeeded; those stories are now there for future generations to be retold & remembered. A gift and landmark folk album.
