The Albion Christmas band are on the road again this Christmas feat: Simon Nicol (Fairport Convention), Kellie While (Albion Band), Simon Care (Edward II) and the Guv’nor Ashley Hutchings plus a special guest.

Two members of the new re-vitalised Albion Band have been nominated in the 2013 BBC Folk Awards and the band announce a special guest for their Exeter gig: Phil Beer of Show of Hands fame.

Building on a summer of successful festival appearances, The Albion Band is taking what could be called a victory lap with a second UK tour this November.

Bristol Folk Festival has relaunched its popular Isambard nationwide music award which will be jointly sponsored by Folk Radio UK and Songs from the Shed this year.

The Albion Band have just released a track on bandcamp from their new (as yet unreleased) album ‘The Vice of The People. Plus get those UK Tour Dates!

As far as band shake-ups go you don’t get a more striking change than this one. The Albion Band is to get a complete re-boot for 2012 as the torch is passed to a newer generation of English folk talent. Ashley Hutchings will be handing over the reins to his son, Blair Dunlop, who is joined by Gavin Davenport, Tom Wright, Katriona Gilmore and Tim Yates.
