Ahead of the release of their new album The Sovereign Self on 29th June Trembling Bells reveal their new video for ‘Sweet Death Polka’ and announce a Two Day London Residency featuring Alasdair Roberts, eclectic folk trio the Family Elan, Incredible String Band founder Mike Heron and legendary folk artist Martin Carthy and more.

Our Song of the Day comes by way of a new video from the gorgeously quirky Sound of Yell which is led by Stevie Jones. The track Crescent features on the debut album Brocken Spectre.

Our Song of the Day is a demo recording from Alasdair Roberts Hirta Songs (2013), a collaboration with poet Robin Robertson, a concept album of sorts that was inspired by the people, landscape and history of the remote Scottish archipelago of St Kilda, the most remote part of the British Isles.

The Unthanks are to headline and curate a one day festival in their native city of Newcastle featuring Rob Heron’s Tea Pad Orchestra, Alasdair Roberts, Twelfth Day, The Baghdaddies as well as 150 Unthanks Singing Weekenders and more.
