One of our favourite singers Ríoghnach Connolly has joined forces with Aizle to record The Wexford Carol as a Christmas single. It’s their take on one of the oldest Christmas carols, as part of a new collaboration.
The Big Whistle Festival which takes place at The Met in Bury on Saturday 12 May, will feature five concerts performed by the Michael McGoldrick Big Band, Aizle, the Andy May Trio, Drop the Floor and Don’t Feed the Peacocks. All of this plus talks, classes and sessions.
Aizle are one of the latest among the new crop of exciting young folk/traditional bands from Manchester’s thriving Celtic music scene. They definitely offer something different as their classical and jazz backgrounds meld with a hugely enjoyable bunch of Irish and Scottish traditional tunes.
