Sadly this is the final India Tour Blog entry from Kan who spent their final day in Calcutta which had its fair share of sparks and I don’t mean the fireworks for Diwali.

KAN head to Calcutta for Day 5 of their India Tour blog, they have an interesting discussion on folk music and meet Tanmoy Bose who toured for many years as Ravi Shankar’s percussionist!

KAN get to do some sightseeing around Bangalore on Day 4 of their tour culminating in a great gig at a jazz venue called Windmills Craftworks…which, much to their appreciation is air-conditioned!

In part three of their Tour Blog KAN head for the cooler leafier climes of Bangalore, hometown of their ‘guardian angel’ Dipti. Ian meets up with Raghu Dixhit and they find time to relax.

KAN continue their India tour blog, in Day Two they undertake a music workshop for underprivileged school children which turns out to be a very rewarding experience for all.

Day One of KAN’s Indian tour blog. They take in the madness of Mumbai helped by a James Bond style taxi ride, they chill in the beauitful Taj hotel and Brian gives an insight into the flute in Indian music.

Sometimes music has the power to transport the listener to another time and place. The audience of a packed Glad Café witnessed such an occasion on the first night of The Aidan O’Rourke Quintet’s tour for their new album ‘Hotline’.

Aidan O’Rourke brings his ambitious, magical Hotline into the live arena for a two rare Scottish shows on 17th and 18th October, featuring the CD’s multi-talented five piece line up.

Capercaillie celebrate their 30th anniversary with the release of At The Heart Of It All, an album that sees them returning to the heart of their roots.

Aidan O’Rourke talks exclusively to Folk Radio UK about the commissioning, writing, performing and recording of his brilliant Holtline his exceptional third solo outing.

Aidan O’Rourke’s beautifully realised third solo album busts boundaries between Scottish folk and jazz, telling the story of the Hotline between the USA and the Kremlin.

We catch KAN performing at Manchester’s historic Band on the Wall where the rarely seen quartet put on a great performance with their unique blend of folk, jazz and Mayan culture!
