Nothin’ Lastin’, the long-awaited new solo offering from Hal Cannon offers a song cycle that leads from the fear of impermanence to contemplating what we are missing – an exploration towards solid ground.
3hattrio’s Hal Cannon today shares the new single and video – Silver Dove – from his upcoming solo album project, Nothin’ Lastin’. He is joined by the Denver-based folk singer Mollie O’Brien, whose bright and airy vocal compliments his smooth baritone.
We owe thanks to a data salvaging company for 3hattrio’s ‘Lost Sessions’. Mike Davies advises “Not one to have you sing along perhaps, but, pour a tumbler of mescal, crush in a few psychotropic salvia leaves and let your inner ghost dog off the leash.”
Utah trio 3hattrio dip into the well for this live album which celebrates the 100th anniversary of Zion National Park, culminating in a haunting paean to the power of the landscape and a terrific culmination of a remarkable live experience.
Taken from their latest album Lord of the Desert, Utah desert-based string trio 3hattrio reveal video for Skeleton Tree. The video arrives ahead of their current European tour which starts this week.
Lord of the Desert is 3hattrio’s most adventurous and eclectic work yet, “pure peyote delirium enveloped in a haze of banjo, guitar, bass, fiddle lines and bass drum dancing around like the indigenous desert animal spirits”…long may they reign.
With the dust has barely settled on their last album, 3hattrio return with Solitaire, their third album, the arid imagery inspired by their red-rock southern Utah base. Inventive and experimental, but still firmly within the territory they have marked out for themselves.
Dark Desert Night is a hugely atmospheric album that pulls you into the stark world conjured by the title with a compelling intensity. Released on May 1st via Okehdokee Record.
