Many folks will have been disappointed to have missed the sold out Away Game held on the island of Eigg this year. The good folks at Fence are providing all you Fence fans the chance to enjoy another wee celebration: The annual Fence celebration of All Hallows’ Eve. In the past the party has been held in Anstruther, Fence Records home town. They have broken with tradition this year and …
I only recently discovered Agnes Obel whilst trawling myspace. She has been described as a cross between Ane Brun and Joanna Newsom. I can understand why the comparison has been made but try and put that out of your mind when you listen, not that my mention of it helps…bit like saying don’t think of pink elephants, alas… her EP, Riverside, features two songs written and performed by herself and …

Darren Hayman met Emma-Lee Moss when they were both recording sessions for a radio station in North London. At the time, Darren was forging his post-Hefner identity while Emma-Lee was perched on the cusp of success.
Big nod to Colin Meloy for tweeting this. This was the reason given for cancelling The New Pornographers gig at Calvin College who describe themselves as Christian and an academically excellent liberal arts college that shapes minds for intentional participation in the renewal of all things. Hmmmm, this sounds a bit screwed up to me…that they are worried about being mistakenly linked to pornography…crazy world we live in
I woke up this morning, a bit jaded from the late night post-show session but with the firm thought in my head that I’ve found my dream festival of all time, and that’s not the Guiness talking! A combination of great acts organised by a passionate trio in the amazing city of Belfast. If I’m honest, I’m a bit overwhelmed by the whole experience so far, it has gone well …
