The BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards went down a treat with many thanks to the diversity of music on offer with some top performances from the likes of The Unthanks and Sam lee. Here are the details of the winners along with some video highlights.
Our Song of the Day comes from The Haunted Windchimes with “Sun Shining Bright” which follows the storyline of the songs creation, while transitioning into a dream-like psychedelic desert sequence in the vein of film director Alejandro Jodorosky.
As well as performing at the BBC Folk Awards tomorrow The Unthanks have revealed a new animated video for ‘Died for Love’. They are touring across Scotland in May and are appearing at a number of UK festivals in the summer including Green Man Festival.
The wonderfully original Blowzabella will be hitting the road in May to play a series of dates across England as well as headline the main stage at FolkEast in Suffolk on Saturday 20 August – one you don’t want to miss!
