The nominees for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2018 have been announced by Mark Radcliffe on the Radio 2 Folk Show. This year’s Awards ceremony, presented by Mark Radcliffe and Julie Fowlis, will take place at the Belfast Waterfront on Wednesday 4 April.

German violinist, composer and producer, Alex Stolze, is pleased to announce the release of his new album ‘Outermost Edge’, released 16th March 2018 on Nonostar Records. He is a truly groundbreaking instrumentalist and producer. Watch his latest video for ‘New’, directed by Andrea Huyoff.

Our Song of the Day comes from Sam Moss, a musician who lives in Boston. Neon is his latest single and the title track of his forthcoming album set for release in March 2018. He’s certainly a name you want to keep on your radar.

The Gloaming will play seven sold-out shows at Dublin’s National Concert Hall in March, their only live appearances of 2018. To mark this occasion, Real World Records will release Live at the NCH, a live album recorded at the beautiful concert hall. Listen to The Booley House.
