The folktronica heroes, The Books, are back with another album after five years. Their new album titled The Way Out is released on Temporary Residence Limited. Over the course of three albums in nearly a decade’s time, the Books have grown to become one of modern music’s most genuine innovators.

Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan have joined forces again to release a third album titled Hawk due for release in the UK on 16th August through V2/Cooperative Music. They will be touring the UK and Europe in September this year.

Johnny Flynn has just released a new animated video for his powerful new single ‘Barnacled Warship’ which also features on his album Been Listeneing. The video is directed by Christian DeVita. I know I only recently posted a live video of Sharon Van Etten, but how can I resist when she gets the Vincent Moon treatment over on La Blogotheque, I couldn’t wait.
