While no means a typical Bella Hardy album, many will adore the fusion of cultures, traditions and musical styles that populate Eternal Springs, it is a beautiful recording.

In Our History – Live demonstrates how far Gilmore & Roberts have travelled musically in the decade they have been together, with a sizeable canon of fine original material behind them and a confidence in live performance which belies their still very young years.

A rich and eclectic mix of styles and accomplished musicianship, with fine harmonies and song-writing of a high standard. The energy and skill that radiates from the album will surely translate into a superb live show.

‘Live Again!’ is a valuable snapshot both Ochs’s political priorities and concerns at a significant time in America’s history, and his timeless music, which ultimately remains his greatest legacy.

From the Outside is one for the Bert Jansch fans – fifteen songs delivered solo without any of the over-production and superfluous accompaniment that typified many 1980s albums by folk artists.

This was an immense show, great performances by all, but it will inevitably now stick in the memory of all present for Rhiannon Giddens’ stunning performance who brought the house down with the perfect combination of soulful vocal and explosive delivery.

Featuring Martin Simpson, Karine Polwart, Robert Plant, Ryley Walker, Jacqui McShee and more, a Bert Inspired proved to be an excellent show, and a fitting tribute to a folk legend.

The Unthanks’ Scala performance highlights their uncanny ability to challenge preconceptions and continually drive back the boundaries of the traditional folk music genre, exploring deep into its jazzy, orchestral and progressive corners. Here’s to many more decades of unpredictable awesomeness.
