We talk to New Mexico-based musical and linguistic polymath Jordan Wax about his Yiddish recording debut, טײַטש [The Heart Deciphers]. Co-produced with Jeremy Barnes, the album melds deep klezmer instrumentation with larger indie rock arrangements.

On his album, Nasgino Inagei Nidayulenvi, Oklahoma Cherokee singer and songwriter Agalisaga “Chuj” Mackey makes beautiful country and roots songs that speak of love, death, a reverence for the natural world, all a key part of his personal vision to revitalise the endangered Cherokee language.

Les secrets du ciel, the solo debut of Québécois singer Yann Falquet, is a tour-de-force of his artistic vision on which he proves himself worthy of these great old songs, an interpreter of French-Canadian ballads with a remarkable voice and powerful artistry on the guitar.
