Finnish artist Laura Naukkarinen’s (aka Lau Nau) has released her fifth album ‘Poseidon’. A suite of luminous, world-weary songs that exist in a world of all their own, treading the line between chamber folk and experimental pop with a distinctly Scandinavian melancholy.
For their latest album, Bu Bir Ruya, Dirtmusic team up with Turkish-psych visionary Murat Ertel from Baba Zula. Recorded in Istanbul, the album navigates hypnotic rhythms, cinematic atmospheres and dark political realities. Listen to lead track Bi De Sen Söyle (Song of the Day).
An Tara are East Clare duo Tommy Hayes and Matthew Noone. Combining percussion and sarode, a North Indian lute, their music ‘explores the spaces in-between the traditions of Irish and Indian Classical music.’ The results are magical.

Compass Records Group has acquired Folk Roots label Red House Records – The 34-year-old St Paul, MN-based imprint is an iconic brand in Americana and folk music and has been home to a long list of cornerstone artists of the genre, including The Wailin’ Jennys, Eliza Gilkyson, Greg Brown and more.
