Greylag are the brainchild of Andrew Stonestreet and Daniel Dixon who first began collaborating from afar, after a chance meeting in Kentucky. Eventually they both moved to Portland, Oregon and began piecing together the band, with the help of Brady Hutton Swan and Mark Robertson.

The Unthanks are taking the show, The Unthanks Explore the Music of Robert Wyatt / Antony & The Johnsons, on the road in December, to mark the release of a live album, captured last December at the Union Chapel.

Peatbog Faeries will release their forthcoming album, Dust, on 8th August which you can preview on Folk Radio UK in full from today for one week. Plus – read our interview about the making of Dust!

Balto recently released a video for the track ‘Kirov Factory’ taken from their debut album ‘October’s Road’. The live band footage is from an appearance at Arlene’s Grocery which is located in NYC’s trendy Lower East Side in what was once a Puerto Rican bodega. Enjoy!

Time Gentlemen Please which features the Demon Barber Roadshow recently came across a video of Chris Moyles Hip Hop Morris Battle. In short they have offered a challenge to Mr. Moyles to return to his home county and spend a day honing his skills. Being the good sort that they are ‘Time Gentlemen Please’ will of course reward him for his efforts!

So the good news is that Boo Hewerdine, Jez Lowe, Julie Matthews, Rory McLeod, Ruth Notman, Kate Fox, Elvis McGonagall and Kate Bramley will reunite for a further three shows in September 2011!

As far as band shake-ups go you don’t get a more striking change than this one. The Albion Band is to get a complete re-boot for 2012 as the torch is passed to a newer generation of English folk talent. Ashley Hutchings will be handing over the reins to his son, Blair Dunlop, who is joined by Gavin Davenport, Tom Wright, Katriona Gilmore and Tim Yates.
