The following video was shot by filmmaker Ro Tierney of New Zealand. On 15th August 2011 it snowed on Cuba Mall in central Wellington NZ. He caught something that filmmakers dream of.

Things have been very busy this summer for northerners Stu Hanna and Debbie Hanna, better known as the super British folk duo Megson. They have, if you haven’t already heard, been getting used to their new band member – Lola Wren, their daughter.

Husband and wife duo Sarah Lee Guthrie & Johnny Irion release ‘Bright Examples’ in the UK in September followed by a six date UK mini-tour. The album’s dreamy late 60′s / early 70′s country rock leaning was inspired by the work of Gram Parsons and his band the Flying Burrito Brothers.

Laura Marling’s highly anticpated third album ‘A Creature I Don’t Know’ is due for release on 12th September. The combination of high calibre song-writing, top-notch production and greater texture and layers of sound make ‘A Creature I Don’t Know’ her best work to date. Watch the latest Video.

New-look Welsh band Jamie Smith’s Mabon (JSM) are gearing up for a gig in the heart of their homeland next month, when they play Cardiff’s St David’s Hall. It will mark a debut at the prestigious venue for the new all-male line-up spearheaded by South Wales-based Jamie Smith.

Jim Moray is back with his second podcast instalment. This week he features many FRUK favourites including Ane Brun, Tim Eriksen, Joanna Newsom, Moore Moss Rutter, This is the Kit, Eliza Carthy and Peter Bellamy to name just a few.

The Local have teamed up with director Tim Plester to hold a very special afternoon screening of his heartfelt documentary Way of the Morris. The film’s DVD launch will take place on Sunday 25 September 2011, at Tim’s local cinema, the beautiful Phoenix in East Finchley, North London
