We have a video premiere today from lo fi acoustic poet and song writer Owen Trowmans with his new video for Child Winter, taken from his new Winter Tape EP. The ‘found footage video’ rekindles that sense of yearning for home and childhood wonderfully.

Wth just over five months to go until the 34th Orkney Folk Festival the organisers announce some of their first acts: Julie Fowlis, The Unthanks, Liz Carroll and Frigg.

Our Song of the Day comes from the forthcoming Songs of Separation. This is London Lights featuring the gorgeous vocals of Hazel Askew and dreamy harmonies. This has a lovely Christmassy feel as well.
