Broken Stay Open Sky is the fourth album from the now London-based Cornish 60s psych-folk styled six-piece Red River Dialect. Released on Paradise of Bachelors it’s sure to bring them the extra attention they deserve.

Watch The Day is Golden by The Little Unsaid, a deeply personal song that deals with a journey through mental illness. The video was filmed at sunrise on St Agnes in the Isles of Scilly. It’s also the title of their UK concert tour ahead of their new album Selected Works being released on Reveal Records.

It may not all be wholly autobiographical in a literal sense, but the emotional authenticity is clear, another terrific example of how exposing and exorcising personal pain can produce an artist’s best work while touching universal chords and perhaps giving voice to those less articulate in seeking catharsis.

If you like your music honest and free from studio beeps and production flourishes and your vocals real and untouched by autotune, then this new album from Anglo-American duo Cath and Phil Tyler should hold you. Well worth the eight-year wait.

There’s far more to Undersong than the time Salt House spent recording on the tiny Hebridean island of Berensay, with seasoned producer Andy Bell. Undersong is a highly accomplished album of wonderful music, that singles Salt House out as a trio of exceptional talent.
