Cambridge Folk Festival is carrying on its long tradition of supporting rising talent with the announcement of The Den’s lineup. The Den is the festival’s space for young, up-and-coming acts, presenting the stars of tomorrow in an intimate and relaxed environment.

Lucy Ward has given fans a little sneak peek behind the scenes of the recording of her new studio album ‘Pretty Warnings’ including a small preview of two tracks, ‘Lazy Day’ and a band backed version of the traditional song ‘Maria Martin’.

Eddi Reader has announced that her brand new studio album ‘Cavalier’ will be released worldwide on September 28 by Reveal Records. Featuring sixteen songs, the new album was recorded and produced in Glasgow, Scotland by Eddi Reader and John Douglas.

The Jayhawks are to release Back Roads and Abandoned Motels, a new studio album, on Friday, July 13. Produced by Gary Louris, John Jackson and Ed Ackerson. It features nine songs co-written by Louris with other artists alongside two of Gary’s latest compositions.

Our Song of the Day comes from Laurence Made Me Cry, the project of multi-instrumentalist and folk pop songstress Jo Whitby. For Scott was written in memory of the late Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit.
